Eden Atherton graduated from University College London with an honours degree in Physics and Medical Physics, having previously turned down an offer to read Fine Art at The Slade. She continued post-graduate studies in physics then worked as a scientist and as a civil servant before moving into medical tattooing. Eden trained with experts in London and Manchester, obtaining ABT and CPD-accredited certifications in Medical Tattooing and Medical Needling.
Eden uses her in-depth knowledge of physics to enhance her artistic skill, for example she considers how the atomic structure of skin effects the reflection and refraction of light to make colour choices and mix pigments to create bespoke shades. This skill is aided by Eden experiencing kinesthetic and spacial sequence synaesthesia; this gives her a unique understanding of the complex systems of the human body and usefully informs her treatment decisions based on how the body will react, and how the brain will visually interpret results.
We strive to ensure that all clients feel confident and comfortable during their treatment. Eden has undergone training in trauma-informed care; she creates a calm and welcoming space and is sensitive to the individual needs of each client. Please see our trauma-informed care page for further information.
